The quick start.
From a fresh installation to a tested solution, without the detour.
01 / Set up your environment
Install a matching VSIX. Open a trusted local folder, then open CFIDE Settings from the sidebar gear. Configure your C++ compiler and/or Python interpreter and select Check all. A green tick means that check passed.
02 / Add a contest
Use the sidebar + button and paste a regular Codeforces contest URL or ID. Upcoming contests download released problems while VS Code is running. Adding a contest does not register you for the official round.
03 / Read and write
Choose A, B, or another problem. Read the statement on the left and use the native code editor on the right. Switch languages with the language control; each language keeps its own file.
04 / Run your cases
Use sample tabs or add a custom case with +. Run all saves the selected solution before testing. Compare expected and actual output; local AC is not an official verdict.
05 / Submit on Codeforces
Use Copy code & open submission page. It saves and copies the selected language's solution. Paste it on Codeforces, choose the correct compiler, and submit there. Set your public handle to track submissions and rankings.
06 / Make it yours
Choose an interface language, configure starter code for C++ and Python, and adjust tools in Settings. Per-contest download and archive controls live in that contest's settings.
